Month 1: Claude Code

Summary

It has been a month since Day 1: Claude Code. What started as a brew install and a handful of curious questions about a single repo has turned into a daily driver across everything I touch — Cloudera Streaming Operators, NiFi, MiNiFi, EFM on Kubernetes, Flink, Kafka, GPU workloads on minikube, custom processors, the blog you are reading right now, and a growing catalog of skills, hooks, MCP servers, and workflows that keep it all glued together.

Rather than replay every step here, I have been publishing the progress on X as it happens — Day 2 through Month 1-2 and beyond organized into X articles. This post is the index into that stream, so you can pick up wherever you like.

What got done in Month 1

A non-exhaustive list of the things Claude Code helped me build, break, fix, or publish over the last thirty-plus days:

• Drove day-to-day repo work across DesktopShare, ClouderaStreamingOperators, NiFi-Templates, Flink-Kubernetes-Playground, and this blog
• Iterated dozens of markdown plans from AI-drafted → tested → published — the Edge to AI for Dummies, Cloudera Edge Flow Manager on Kubernetes, and Using Kftray and Zellij posts are recent examples
• Stood up and tore down countless minikube clusters — CSO, EFM, NiFi, Kafka, Flink, Postgres, Prometheus, Grafana — while Claude Code drove kubectl, helm, and minikube tunnel
• Created Streamers (App with Live Streamer Clip Bot) with audio transcription and LLM generated commentary
• Created StreamerChat (Nifi Bot on Twitch with chat enabled stream screen loader) multi device, multi network using Tailscan and Starlink
• Wired up custom skills, dataflows, agents, and multi system workflows for operational building blocks
• Kept the Telegram bot bridge alive and educated so I can operate claude and apps remotely
• Wrote, reviewed, and shipped this blog’s post’s and bot created X posts
